Just about all of us have gotten some sort of DNS error when trying to access one web site or another. Here are some of the more common examples of DNS error that you may encounter and what you can do to get around the error.
Perhaps the more common types of DNS error have to do with the browser we use. For persons using Explorer, you may get one of these types of errors from time to time: “DNS error in Internet Explorer”; “DNS error Internet Explorer”; or “DNS error on Internet Explorer”. All of these relate back to a possible issue with your browser. But more often than not the dial up DNS error is simply that the search timed out for some reason. You may need to upgrade the version you are using in order to handle the loading of that site.
From time to time, there may be a problem connecting with the server. In situations like that, you will most likely get a message along the lines of “cannot find server or DNS error”; “DNS error or server not found”; “DNS server error”; or “DNS error or “cannot find server”. This implies that there is a good chance that the server that houses the web site you are attempting to access is temporarily having a problem processing your request. Once the origin of the issue is addressed, you will be able to get to the web site with no problem.
There are other types of DNS error that you may encounter through various other situations. As an example, you may encounter a DNS error such as “Xbox live DNS error” or “DNS error for PSP”. When you have something like these errors show up, chances are that you will need to back off and try again a little later. Once again, these types of errors indicate there is a problem with the server access and you will not be able to accomplish much until the error is identified and fixed.
Most DNS errors are not something that will lead to outages for a long period of time. Typically, a good programmer or IT person can find the DNS error in just a few moments and begin to make the necessary changes that will correct the problem. Once the NS error fix has been successfully implemented, it will only take a few moments for traffic to begin to flow again normally.
